Start menu and Cortana have stopped working. Cortana is also a part of Windows 10 start menu. Both of them include different troubleshooters. I don't know if it is in the registry or in one of the thousands of files that Windows creates in the user Appdata directory tree, but if you can create a new user account and log into it, you might find that it works. Hopefully someone could help me out with the same issue.
At this point after a re-boot, all the old-school apps seemed to be working again but still with the exception of the Start Menu I use Classic Shell but still an issue and the wireless selection menu.
