However, in Ravenheart and Stormrider, it is revealed that she is actually someone who loves all life and wants to help the human race. The armies of Stone are clearly based on the Roman Legions, even down to the descriptions of their armaments and military formations. It's just a bit much, but isn't to say this movie isn't a good one. It's kinda nice that everything works out. Cernunnos' spirit forces Winterbourne to hand his skull to the Rigante witch-woman, the Dweller, who passes it on to Stormrider. The hero, Sam Fielding Kevin Sorbo , even tosses a diamond ring to the lady love, Jody, played by Kristy Swanson who he's previously taken for granted. He's a hard-nosed but basically decent guy, and he gives Dani a baby mule to love and train.
Macon holds out due to a warning from a traitor of Winterbourne's army, but the woman he loved was killed. As Dani and her uncle struggle to bond, she's given an orphaned horse to foster and train. Again, this flick is sweet and easy to watch. Macon uses the skull, and Cernunnos takes control of him, temporarily giving him god-like powers. The actors came across as people who were being watched. The movie is pretty good up until that point, but after a plane wreck where everybody is thrown out but still well enough to load onto horses and drag out bumping and bouncing it loses traction. His house is a mess. Sam knows nothing about feeding or raising a teenage girl, but he learns very quickly. However the loss of the skull has reduced the fighting skills of the Redeemers from their previous levels to a point where they are defeated by the injured Rigante. An old prophecy is making him a hunted man by Lord Winterbourne, the leader of the Redeemer Knights, a group of killers. It's a mule that's been kicked around in life thus far.
There's no sex, no violence, no harsh moments. Spoiled 18-yr-old Dani Fielding's world is turned upside down when her father gets arrested for securities fraud, and she has to leave her upscale life in the city to stay with her gruff Uncle Sam out in the country. The Moidart is made the new king. She and Stormy become inseparable until Dani gets the chance to compete again on a real horse. Although loose in story structure, the point is made. Dani soon realizes that truly caring about others is the answer to most of life's biggest problems.
Her wealthy dad is going to prison for securities fraud. She is depicted as an evil woman who grants men wishes, only to destroy them later. We can talk about decisions and consequences without sex, violence and more violence. Since Gemmell never put the point to rest, it can be left to the reader's opinion as to what Gemmel was writing a fantasy counterpart of. .
The later books in the Rigante series can be seen as broad parallels to the of the sixteenth century and the of the seventeenth century. Additionally, the Sea Wolves which frequently raid the Keltoi settlements are clearly based on Saxon, Angle, Jute and Viking raiders. Winterbourne moves around the battlefield and comes to Eldacre with a detachment of elite troops. The best thing about it is I can watch it with my children without any embarrassment. As Winterbourne's forces close in on Eldacre, a mage in the Moidart's service communicates with Winterbourne, informing him that the skull of Cernunnos is in his possession. Dani has just won a horse show with her champion when her world falls apart. The Moidart hides in the castle with a few loyal men, kills the Pinancer leaders, and takes control of the Pinance's army.
Dani pours her affection into this young horse, calling her Stormy and giving her all the attention she's missing from her unsettled life. A priest prophesied before he was executed that Winterbourne would be killed by the man with the golden eye - who Winterbourne assumes is Macon. Macon leads the Eldacre Company back to Eldacre, and the Moidart seeks the Rigante's assistance in the coming invasion by Winterbourne. Dani and Sam work out a pretty good relationship despite the fact that neither one had much choice about the living arrangement and they're both pretty used to getting their own way. Winterbourne is stopped as he tries to escape with the skull and discovers that the man with the golden eye was not Macon.
I recommend that this film be added to the family library since it can be watched multiple times and still not get boring. As Cernunnos prepares to destroy mankind, he is stopped by Macon's old friend, Mulgrave, who shoots a golden bullet into his heart. He heals and revives both armies. It's so nicely photographed and told that it's forgivable. When they were sacking the village of Shelsans, a monk showed him the skull of Cernunnos.
And when her uncle and friends need her the most, Dani and Stormy work together to save the day and learn the true meaning of the word, family. The Moidart's son, Gaise Macon known by the Rigante soul name of 'Stormrider' is in the Royalist king's army, and serves loyally. This is the place that the highlanders have settled remain free. Winterbourne kills the king, takes control of the army, attempts several assassinations on Macon and launches an invasion on the town the Stormrider is deployed at. Her stepmom is walking out. Insecure at times, as they should be in a real life situation. It is the fourth and last novel in the Rigante series.
