Did the technician tell you anything on what had happened? Keep in mind this is an area where a tech would demand a service manual as well as consults with other techs. I purchased the tv over a year and a half ago and cant seem to locate the receipt to hopefully validate the warranty. How would you improve the information?. Looking to repair this myself. There are no user serviceable parts inside so no one that doesn't dive in and heed the warnings about lethal voltages or learn more about electronics tend to just be upset and can't be helped.

I unplugged everything, tried to reset it, no good. I have picture but only on certain av inputs, i have no working hdmi, ports there is no sound and the cooling fan is constantly running full speed, and the control buttons are working but takes several attempts to get a result ive looked around but not had much luck thanks. If a problems occurs Ill update as needed. After switching it on the picture flashes for a second and then the screen goes completely black. Or is the set completely dead? I will post if I learn anything of value. It will make search easy.
I put other appliances on same wall socket and worked. Could be the inverter circuits for the backlights. Hope this helps some or all of you!!! Posted on Jul 09, 2011 I agree, it does sound like a problem with the fluorescent lights that light up the screen aren't getting power. It has to be internal problem. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part lists.
Are you sure the antenna or cable is connected? In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. To verify this, turn on the set, dim the lights in the room, and shine a bright flashlight on the screen. Is there a light or other indication on the set that lets you know that? In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. Maybe the remote is dead. Mark French, if you are having the same problem I am. It will make surf easy.

The last time I had it happen, I did not have time to mess with it so I just turned it off. I have submitted the question to a paid forum to see if this is anything I may be able to fix. They can be replaced if you are good with a soldering gun but they are static sensitive so be grounded. The inverter is the power supply source for the backlights. Also, socket is good, sound but no picture, completely black, No menu, used to have a thing that would come on screen and tell me what channel I changed it to, that is not there when I change channels, I change input, no picture, black.
